You grill your steak yourself on the 450 °C lava stone while the bar mixes your drink. All of it right on Lake Constance, inside Seehotel Litz in Langenargen.

The meat arrives raw at your table and you grill it yourself on the hot lava stone. Exactly the way you like it. Barely any fat, hardly any smoke, and the doneness stays in your hands.

For the meat we go with Argentinian grass-fed beef and regional heifer from the Allgäu. Add a bar with a few good drinks and quiet jazz in the background. Open all year, even when everything else on the lake shuts down.

Our meat

Argentinian grass-fed beef & regional heifer from the Allgäu.

We know where our meat comes from. Free-grazing cattle from Argentina and young heifer from the Allgäu. Farms we know by name.

You take the final step yourself. The cut arrives raw at your table and cooks on the 450 °C lava stone exactly as far as you like. Barely any fat, hardly any smoke. Nothing is pre-cooked in the kitchen, that part is yours.

Do I need to book at Alex?

For the evening and at the weekend it’s best to book by phone, so your table at the lava stone is secured. During the week a spontaneous visit often works out.

Is there anything other than steak?

Yes. Alongside the lava-stone steaks there are burgers, bruschetta and desserts, plus a bar with drinks and wines. You will find the full menu with prices on our menu page.

How does the lava-stone steak work?

The meat arrives raw at your table and you grill it yourself on the 450 °C lava stone, right up to your preferred doneness. Barely any fat, hardly any smoke, and it’s all in your hands.

Are there vegetarian dishes too?

Yes. From bruschetta and vegetarian pasta to the veggie burger, vegetarian guests are well looked after.

Are you open all year, even in winter?

Yes, we’re open all year, even when the rest of the lake takes a break. The lake-view terrace is infrared-heated in winter. We’re closed on Tuesdays.
